U10 Boys Win Karl Mercer Cup

St Peter's U10 boys travelled to Portadown on Sat 14th May hoping to add to the Parish Cup already won on St Patrick's day. They played 3 matches in their group defeating Tir Na Nog, St Marys and Clann Na Gael to reach the final where our old rivals Clann Eireann awaited.
From the outset Clann Eireann seemed to have revenge on their minds after they had suffered a defeat to the young whites in the final of the Parish Cup on St Patrick's day. It was a nervy start by St Peters with Clann Eireann giving as good as they got and in fact lead for a large part of the first half until great scores by Shay Geriaghty and midfielder Conan Maguire settled the whites.
Second half and St Peters took control with Oran Brady, Eugene Doran and Josh Bush in control at the back, Kieran McGeown and Conan Maguire asserting at midfield and Barry Creaney, Shay Geriaghty and Ethan Lavery up front all being ably assisted by Callum Starkey, Mattie Toal and Patrick McGibbon. With the young Ryan Latepi and the outstanding Shanea Duffy in goals the young whites went on to win by 13 - 9 to lift their 2nd cup of the year. This win was a great squad performance with everyone playing their part.
