St Peters Fightback to Claim Parish Cup

St Peters and Clann Eireann under 10's played out what can only be described as a fantastic game of football in the Parish Cup on St Patricks day at St Peters. Played in perfect conditions it was Clann Eireann who started brightly and went into half time with a five point lead. St Peters introduced Doran, McGeown, Lavery, Gerigathy and McAlinden for the second half and immediately the game changed. McGeown, Maguire and Doran started to get the upper hand at midfield and with good ball going into the forward line scores started to come. Some great scores from Maguire, Lavery and a last gasp point from Gerigathy levelled the match. Extra time was required and it was in this period you could sense the young Whites wanted the game more with Brady, Bush and McDermot controlling the back line and Starkey and Creaney covering every blade of grass. With Duffy also coming into his own the Whites pushed on for a hard fought but well deserved four point win.
